Every vendor on PBridge passes a multi-step verification process before they can list a single product. We verify identity, bank account ownership, and business legitimacy — so you know who you'\''re buying from.
Anonymous sellers are the source of most online shopping fraud in Nigeria. Without verification, anyone can create a profile, list products, collect payment, and disappear. PBridge fixes this at the foundation: every vendor is verified before they can sell anything.
Step 1: Account creation with valid email and phone number. Both are verified via OTP.
Step 2: Business profile setup with store name, location, and category. The vendor uploads a profile photo and shop banner.
Step 3: Identity verification. We collect a government-issued ID (NIN slip, voter card, or driver's license) and verify it against the registered name.
Step 4: Bank account verification. The vendor provides a Nigerian NUBAN. We use Flutterwave's real-time bank verification to confirm the account belongs to the registered name. Mismatches result in rejection.
Step 5: Manual review by PBridge team. We check for duplicate accounts, suspicious patterns, or red flags before approval.
Only after all five steps pass can a vendor list products and receive orders.
Verification doesn't end at approval. We continuously monitor vendor behavior: dispute rate, response time, product quality complaints, return frequency, and payout patterns.
Vendors who maintain healthy metrics rise in visibility on the platform. Vendors with high dispute rates or quality complaints are flagged, suspended, or permanently removed depending on severity.
Counterfeit listings result in immediate permanent ban plus freezing of any pending earnings. The vendor is reported to Nigerian authorities if appropriate.
Repeated quality complaints (3+ valid disputes in 90 days) lead to 30-day suspension. Persistent issues lead to permanent removal.
Fraud attempts (e.g., collecting payment off-platform, fake shipment confirmations) result in immediate removal.
On every product listing, you see the vendor's verified store name, location, member-since date, and rating. Click into the store to see the full product catalog and reviews from real buyers (only verified purchasers can leave reviews).
Vendors selling brand-name products (Apple, Samsung, Nike) can apply for additional brand verification by submitting authorized dealer documentation. These vendors get an extra badge on listings.
